Being Church is a six-part video parable study series created by the Mission Institute in collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. Christian congregations and communities can use the thought provoking, scripturally rooted content to deepen their journey into being Church. Central to the series are stories of people engaged in the transformative and often difficult work of building community right where they are.

The first workshop was held in Dec. 2013 at Holy Spirit Church, Mattapan and was co-sponsored by the Boston Workers Alliance and the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry. The goal was to help people gain greater insight into resilience and increase our collective knowledge about the strengths and capacities of individuals, groups and communities dealing with adversity and trauma. This will help us intentionally build resources and techniques that strengthen resilience. The plan is to repeat this workshop at least three more times in the coming year.
