Grounded in our faith traditions, the MI convenes, equips, and sends out a community of facilitators to accompany organizations and institutions in the work of identifying and dismantling white supremacy.
We are guided in every aspect of our work by a commitment to these core values:
Collaboration
Transformative Leadership
Embodied Spirituality
Fierce Commitment to Integrity
Trusting the wisdom present in the room and that together we will discover new realities, possibilities, and dreams
Respecting variations & differences in the community gathered
Creating access to places of power for folks who have been historically left out
Assuming synergy, creativity, mutual relationship and agency are fruits of healthy collaboration
Offering innovative, embodied, & practical learning opportunities
Risking our comfort for the sake of relational transformation
Liberating modalities of learning from white supremacy culture
Ensuring diversity among resource people and participants
Healing the wound left in the wake of racism must & will be prioritized
Honoring our whole selves, especially the body as holy & good
Committing to a practical, relevant, & generative theology
Recognizing the vital role of fun & joy as gifts of the Spirit
Telling the truth at all cost, even if it means risking status, respect, & comfort
Holding our own organization & Churches accountable for ways racism lives within our culture, beliefs, & practices
Making sure our values align with behavior & adjust as needed
